The Talent Show

On Friday, Catalina was in her school's talent show.  Todd was the MC and had a lot of fun.  The kids were amazing...they played the piano, sang, solved the Rubit's Cube in less than 2 minutes, and Cat hula hooped with a cartwheel dismount.  We were so proud of her.  All of you know how shy she is so to perform in front of the school was a huge accomplishment!  She did great!

Folding Laundry

Did I ever tell you how much Catalina loves to fold laundry?  Before she leaves for school in the morning she will tell Grandma Dorothy, "Don't fold the clothes in the dryer.  I want to do it when I come home."  What a hoot....I will remind her of this obsession when she is 12!

Easter

I know Papa has been waiting to see these pictures!  The girls found their Easter baskets in the bathtub and then it was outside for the annual egg hunt!  It was fun to see them both participate this year.  

Then it was off to the Tolar's for more Easter surprises.  Here are the girls with Gray and Ben.

We took the boat to the park and found more eggs.  Then the kids fished for eggs in a cooler with a pole.  The grown-ups had an egg hunt too, this time the rules were very specific....no structural damage to the house please.  It was a great day!  We missed you all!

It's been awhile....

It's April, almost Easter, where did March go?!  I realized today that I haven't been taking pictures!  We have been to the zoo, my work picnic, to the park, in the pool, and enjoying a ton of company....and I keep forgetting the camera!

Today Catalina and I bought a "spiral" curling iron.  She was so excited to use it.  We got home, ripped open the package, and heated up the iron.  We had already watched 2 utube videos and were ready to go!  Here are the results.  She has the best hair....

After dinner tonight , the girls frosted two cookies that we baked all afternoon for Easter!  Ava was a mess, but enjoyed every minute of it!

On the Farm

A couple weeks ago, we picked up Grandma Dorothy and headed to AG Day at the Superstition farm.  All local growers/farmers contributed to a delicious lunch that was $1.00!  We enjoyed petting the goats, watching baby chicks, finding our way through a hay maze, taking a hayride tour of the dairy farm, and eating a ton of kettle corn!  The girls both decided to take a horseback ride.  Ava saddled up on the biggest horse!  We did not have our camera but Todd convinced the lady waiting in line in back of us to use hers!  She just sent us the pictures.

Our Baby Turns 3!

Today Ava turned three!  I can still remember the day she was born like it was yesterday.  She was a big surprise and has brought us nothing but laughter and a lot of patience!  Her smile continues to light up a room (see above).  Ava May had such a fun "Ariel" birthday.  We had it outside at our house and I made the Ariel cake.  Ava's favorite part of her birthday was the cake (could it be the bowls of frosting she ate as I decorated it?).  Happy Birthday Ava, we love you.

  

ASU Girl's Gymnastics Meet

We had a "girl's night out" last Friday.  Cat, Ava, and I along with two friends from preschool (and their moms) went to dinner and to the ASU girl's gymnastics meet.  It was really cool to watch, lots of action, and the girls enjoyed it too (Cat's eyes are glued to those girls!).  What do you know, Sparky came around to to see us.  Cat has never come close to him before (well, maybe a high five once!).  She said hi to him and let me take her picture.  I was so proud of her! And here is a little secret....there are 7 Sparky's...and this Sparky I knew...it's Cat's gymnastics teacher!!  She did not know that, but how fun!  Ava just hid behind me, she's not ready for Sparky yet!
