Our sweet, little Ava had to have 2 staples in her head last Friday night. Catalina, Ava and Todd were wrestling on the bed and Todd hit Ava with a pillow...her head hit the headboard. I snuggled her, held her head, and found blood. That's when we all freaked out. Catalina ended up in time-out for crying and no one could decide if Ava should go to the ER. Todd called an EMT friend and he advised...open head wound, she will need stitches. So off Todd and Ava went while Catalina and I went to pizza (I am sure I was on my third glass of wine by the time they were even seen by a doctor).
Ava hates to go to the doctor and now she had to go to the hospital. It was a sad scene as she left screaming, "I want my mom!" and Todd sped off to the emergency room. Once there, all she wanted to do is "go home." When that did not work, she said to the doctor, "How about if I come back next Tuesday? I won't cry next Tuesday." Todd figured as long as they were there, they would get it over with that night. Nice try Ava (do I see sales in her future?).
Ava had her stitches removed yesterday (Weds). She cried a little and then saved her staples in a little bag. Today she took them to show her friends at school. What an experience!
